GERB Edition-1 products available from the GGSPS

The "Edition 1" GERB data comprises a number of different product types. This page lists the released product types and gives their available date ranges. Each product type has an individual product version ascribed by the processing software. These individual product versions are also listed below.

Further product types will be released as validation and product development progress.

Authorised Users planning to use the data should read the appropriate data quality summary

Key:
Data available, GERB operating full-time Sun avoidance, not released as Edition, no data for certain times of day Sun avoidance, instrument switched off
GERB or MSG outage, GERB not operating No data, falls outside mission date range

More precise dates for data availability are summarised in the table below.

Restrictions on data coverage

The table above gives date ranges for which each released product is available. There are periods within these date ranges where data are unavailable, for example at certain times of day during months when the MSG orbit brings the sun into the GERB field of view (the "sun avoidance" periods). For these times the instrument is switched to a safe configuration and no data is taken.

The table below gives the dates of significant breaks in the GERB data set due to sun avoidance operations and instrument/satellite anomalies. There may be additional, shorter breaks in data due to other causes. See the detailed documentation for further information.

Detailed summary of gaps in the GERB-2 Edition 1 data set

This Excel spreadsheet contains plots as well as spreadsheets showing significant gaps between products in the L2 ARG Edition 1 data set.

There are separate spreadsheets showing thermal and solar data for the periods 2004-5 and 2006-7, and equivalent plots. The data have been filtered to show where there are significant gaps between successive products, and colour-coded to indicate the range of gap size.

Detailed summary of gaps in the GERB-1 Edition 1 data set

This Excel 2010 spreadsheet contains plots and data showing time gaps in the GERB-1 Edition 1 data set in teh same way as the GERB-2 spreadsheet described above.
